Music recording technology, techniques and business form the foundation of the CRAS curriculum. We have eight “large format” studios that feature a vast array of the modern and vintage gear in common use today.

Start your Career in Live Sound

Live Sound is fueled by the immediacy and adrenalin of a live audience listening to your “product” as you create it.

The CRAS live sound curriculum covers all the bases from theory to setup, analog and digital mixing, signal processing, “rules of the road” and more, all in our 6,000 sq ft live sound venue.

Break Into Film & TV Audio

All of those TV car crashes, door slams, foot stomps and dogs barking... every tick of a clock and bomb blast is recorded, laid in, synchronized and mixed by a team of audio engineers.

CRAS students learn how to do it all, from synchronization, surround sound, to dubbing, to foley and on-site audio. Many of our students who originally thought of a career in music are attracted to the many opportunities in sound for film.

Become a Pro in Video Game Audio

Combining many skills and technologies used in recording music and sound for film, video game sound is a huge industry that continues to grow.

As part of the Video Game curriculum, CRAS students learn digital studio system configuration, advanced digital processing and digital audio production techniques.

Get Started in Broadcast Audio

Every noise, cheer, speech, screech, comment, growl, grunt and tirade you have ever heard on TV or radio was set up, processed and sent out over the airwaves by a broadcast audio engineer.

Broadcast career opportunities are local, national and international, and include live sports, special events, awards shows and more. CRAS students learn in our 42’ mobile audio unit and broadcast Studio E.that feature up to date equipment from companies like Studer, RTS, Sennheiser and Studio Technologies Inc.

The CRAS Student Financial Services department provides a tremendous amount of assistance and planning for students who choose to utilize various types of financial aid. We have a number of different means to help our students attend.
